I’ve been out for a couple weeks now due to a concussion but have been spending my time trying to research fitness breakthroughs and trends until I can’t focus anymore that is lol. I can’t wait to get back at my routine and do what I love.

Fitness trends are evolving, and several are gaining traction as we look toward the rest of 2026. One standout is the rise of functional fitness (compound weight lifting and exercises that improve every day functions of our bodies) and mobility training(exercises enhance range of motion). This approach emphasizes exercises that mimic everyday activities, making workouts more applicable to daily life. Evidence suggests that this trend not only improves strength but also enhances flexibility and balance, which is crucial as we age.

Another trend is the popularity of walking workouts, which are projected to explode. With their low-impact nature, walking workouts can be easily integrated into daily routines, making them accessible for everyone. The 6-6-6 Walking Challenge, where participants walk for six minutes every hour for six hours, is an example that promotes consistent movement throughout the day.

Zone 0(very light) exercise is also emerging, focusing on activities that feel less like traditional workouts and more like enjoyable pastimes. This can help reduce the mental barriers that often come with exercising, making it easier for people to stay active.

Stay ahead of the curve and consider incorporating these trends into your routine. Send me a message if you want a fitness plan that YOU can stick to.
